A commercial leader to drive a new chapter.

Lacoste had recently appointed a new CEO to the NORCAM region to rebuild, elevate and significantly grow the business across all channels.

As part of this, there was a requirement for a highly driven commercial leader with a proven track record and credentials. The role was based in New York City, with a minimum of three days a week in the office.

Deep briefing, deliberate breadth.

We spent significant time with the NORCAM CEO and wider team in Paris to understand the challenges, priorities and culture, and took a detailed briefing on the role and the competencies and behaviours required. From there we created a detailed job description and a visual candidate brand and attraction pack.

We then built a thorough map of target candidates from an agreed list of brands and retailers with the right credentials, capabilities and reputation. It deliberately included some curveball candidates, for discussion and diversity of thinking.

Following extensive assessment using multiple tools, we delivered a balanced and thoughtful shortlist within 15 days of briefing, with a range of candidates all capable of succeeding in the role, each bringing unique and complementary qualities.

Impact from day one.

After interviewing the full shortlist, a CCO was appointed who made a strong commercial impact from day one, with record performance ratings at 6 and 12 months post-hire.

We were subsequently asked to recruit the rest of the leadership team, including VP of Sales and VP of Merchandising.
